The Timeless Elegance of the Dubonnet Cocktail Recipe

Introduction

The Dubonnet Cocktail, a classic aperitif, dates back to the mid-19th century and was originally created to make quinine more palatable for French Foreign Legion soldiers in North Africa. Named after its inventor, Joseph Dubonnet, this cocktail combines the unique bitterness of quinine with aromatic herbs, fortified wine, and a touch of gin or cognac. The result is a complex, slightly sweet, and herbaceous drink that has been enjoyed by royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II, and cocktail enthusiasts alike. Its distinct flavor and rich history make the Dubonnet Cocktail a timeless choice for any occasion.
